Welcome to Michael Yoakley’s Charity - providers of specialist care for the elderly.The Charity was established by the Will of Michael Yoakley in 1708 to provide accommodation for the “deserving poor” of the local area initially in the form of almshouse cottages.

Today the Charity has expanded the number of almshouses available and also provides a residential care home, respite care facilities, a domiciliary care programme for almshouse residents and a state of the art training facility benefiting the local community as well as ourselves.

Astute financial investment and business management by successive generations of the Charity's Trustees have ensured the above services are made available at the lowest possible cost to the user.

The almshouses and residential care home are situated in secluded picturesque grounds on the outskirts of the seaside town of Margate, Kent.
